DIRECTIONS TO CANINE TRAINING CENTER

All given directions below lead to the Saw Mill Parkway. From there:

·         Exit #17 - Dobbs Ferry. At traffic light, go West onto Ashford Avenue. Travel about 1 mile. At 4th traffic light, turn left onto Walgrove Ave. (Getty gas station on corner).

·         Go through one stop sign, then merge to the right. Bear right again at the top of the hill through two stone pillars with a small sign marked “Children’s Village”. Travel on Dassern Drive through the staff housing apartment complex to a guard gate.

·         Go right at the intersection after the booth on Avenue A. Go straight through one stop sign and park in the small parking lot on the right. Take the foot path between the buildings marked Clearview 1 and Clearview 2, and you will see a large metal building with a blue roof. That’s the Canine Training Center.

 TO CV BACK ENTRANCE (only open 7 am to 10 am and 3 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday)

·         Take Saw Mill Parkway to exit 16, Lawrence Street. If traveling north, exit left at the light. If traveling south, exit right. Turn right after exit and follow the one-way service road running along side the Saw Mill Parkway. Go through one stop sign. At second stop sign, turn left onto winding hill (Snake Hill). At top of hill, go straight, passing the elementary school on your left. Turn Left at the stop sign. Straight at the next stop sign. Turn into the parking lot on the right, CTC is behind cottage Clearview 2.

From Grand Central Station

·         Metro North (Hudson Line) to Dobbs Ferry stop, look for ECHO HILLS van or school bus which runs about every hour back and forth to Children's Village campus. For train schedule, visit Metro North Online.

From Northern Connecticut/New England:

·         84 west to exit 20 in New York to I-684 toward White Plains.

·         Take Exit 5 for the Sawmill Parkway. 

From Southern Connecticut:

·         I-95 South  (OR Merrit Parkway to Hutchison River Parkway) to 287 West

·         Take Route 287 (West) to I-87 (South, toward NYC).

·         Exit I-87 (South) onto the Saw Mill River Parkway (South - exit #7).

From Long Island:

·         Take the LIE or Northern State Parkway to the Cross Island Parkway to the Whitestone Bridge (toll: $4.00).

·         Take the Hutchinson (river) Parkway North.

·         At exit 13 take the Cross County Parkway West

·         Take the Sawmill (river) Parkway North to exit 17.

From Manhattan/LaGuardia Airport

·         Take Grand Central Parkway or the FDR Drive to the Triboro Bridge (toll: $4.00) to the Major Deegan North/New England Throughway, which becomes I-87 North.

·         After small toll plaza (50 cents), take the next exit for Route 9A North to Ardsley.

·         At the first big intersection, turn LEFT on Ashford Ave.  Go five lights to Walgrove.

From New Jersey/Western New York State:

·         Take I-87 to 287 to the Tappan Zee Bridge. At the toll plaza stay to the right and take Exit #9, Tarrytown (Route 9 Broadway--the very first exit after the toll plaza). At end of the ramp turn LEFT.

·        Stay on Route 9/Broadway for about 4 miles, passing the town of Irvington and Mercy College. At the Mobil Station, go STRAIGHT onto Walgrove Street. Follow directions from Walgrove above.
